iPhone plans in Australia
Get an iPhone on a plan with one of Australia's major telcos and choose a repayment period of 12, 24 or 36-months.
Compare iPhone plans
We've selected the base models for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 to compare in the table below. You can change iPhone devices by adjusting the filters.
Why compare mobile plans with Finder?
We don't charge extra. Prices shown on Finder are the same as those you get directly from mobile plan providers.
We regularly work with providers to deliver amazing exclusive offers you won't find anywhere else.
We have a team dedicated to monitoring mobile plan prices and keeping deals updated daily.
iPhone 15
The iPhone 15 lineup is a cut above its predecessor with its Titanium design and dynamic island helping you stay on top of everything.
Like the iPhone 14, you'll be able to get the phone in either a 6.7 or 6.1 inch display, but this time you'll get faster speeds and better overall performance thanks to the A16 or A17 bionic processor.
You'll also get super-high-resolution photos, with a 48MP primary camera included as standard on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus and be able to take better portraits with its front camera. If you were to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, you'll get a 5x optical zoom lens.
Regardless of which new Apple phone you choose, the lightning cable is a thing of the past, with Apple switching back to USB-C.
The iPhone 15 base model finally lured me away from Samsung after I got my hands on one for a review. I thought a few weeks in I'd desperately want to go back to using Android's operating system, but I've become a convert. I don't think anyone coming from an iPhone 12 model (or newer) would feel the same spark though as the novelty factor won't be as strong.
Prices for an iPhone vary depending on which make and model you choose. If you were to choose between the last 3 generations of phones, it would cost between $1,099 to $2,899.
Keep in mind Apple no longer officially sells the iPhone 13 Mini, Pro or Pro Max to customers in Australia.
What is the cheapest iPhone to buy outright?
Buying a smartphone outright and choosing a cheap plan is usually a way to save money when you get the latest tech. But it does come with the disadvantage of a large upfront investment.
If you're looking for a new phone that won't break the bank, you're usually best off going with the base model, with the smallest amount of storage.
Take the new iPhone 15 as an example. There's 4 models you can choose from being the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
While a 128GB iPhone 15 will cost $1,499, on the other side of the scale, the iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB will cost $2,899. As you can see, you can pay almost half by choosing the base model with less storage, compared with the top of the range phone.
iPhone 14
The iPhone 14 took a leap in size, with a 6.1 to 6.7 inch display and offers improvements on its camera and satellite connectivity compared with its predecessor.
The iPhone 14 is powered by Apple's A15 or A16 Bionic chip, which helps increase performance and offer stronger efficiency compared to the previous generations of iPhones.
The phone also offers an advanced camera system for better photos, action mode for videos and a Ceramic Shield, making the glass tougher compared with previous phones.
If you were to purchase this phone from the big 3 telcos, you might only be able to buy the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, as the Pro and Pro Max models have been discontinued.
iPhone 13
The iPhone 13 showed improvement in battery life compared to the iPhone 12, with its lightning-fast A14 or A15 Bionic Chip with 4-core GPU helping to improve the overall performance of the phone.
The phone comes in 2 sizes, giving you either a 6.1 or 5.4 inch display.
It boasts an advanced 12MP dual-camera system, access to 5G networks, up to 19 hours in video playback and a cinematic mode that allows you to autonomically focus videos.
If you were to purchase this phone from the big 3 telcos, you may only be able to buy the iPhone 13 as the rest of the range has been discontinued.
What telco is running the best iPhone deals?
It's pretty rare to see an iPhone plan with a deal running, but if you're looking to sign up to an iPhone plan, Vodafone and Optus are running a few promotions this month:
Vodafone: Get $200 off the RRP of the iPhone 14.
Vodafone: Get $150 off the RRP of the full iPhone 15 lineup, including the Pro and Pro Max.
Optus: Get a Mastercard digital gift card if you trade-in an eligible phone in good working condition.
With Vodafone, you'll also get 3 months of Apple TV+ included with your iPhone plan, but otherwise, there's no other special offer currently available.
Telstra iPhone plans
Getting an iPhone with Telstra means you'll get access to the following:
A mobile plan operating on Australia's largest 4G and 5G network
No excess data charges for surpassing your monthly limit. Instead your speeds will be capped at 1.5Mbps once you've used up your data allowance.
A host of additional extras including 4 months Spotify Premium, 2 months BINGE and 3 months of McAfee security on Telstra.
Unlimited international texts to standard numbers and 30 minutes of free calls.
eSIMs to switch over almost instantaneously.
Option to earn Telstra Plus points for rewards.
The only thing to keep in mind is that Telstra's phone plans are on the pricier side compared to the other networks. Compare your options and make sure you're choosing a plan that suits your budget and needs.
Optus iPhone plans
Sign up to an iPhone plan with Optus and you'll be getting:
A mobile plan on Australia's second largest 4G and 5G network.
No excess data charges. Your speeds will be capped at 1.5Mbps once you've used up your data allowance.
Optus Sport subscription for $6.99 a month (Non-Optus customers pay $24.99).
Optus SubHub where you can bundle 3 or more eligible subscriptions to save 10%.
Options to add on roaming packs to use your mobile plan overseas.
Optus offers a wide range of iPhone plans to pair one of its mobile plans with including the iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and iPhone SE.
Vodafone iPhone plans
Signing up to an iPhone plan with Vodafone means you'll get access to the following:
No excess data charges. Speeds get capped at 2Mbps once you've gone through your monthly data allowance.
Unlimited international texts on all plans.
Option to add on roaming for $5 a day to use your regular plan inclusions overseas.
3 months of free Apple TV+ across its range of iPhone plans.
Vodafone boasts some of the cheapest iPhone plans in Australia thanks to its lower priced mobile plans. Its plans are often running double data deals as well so you can get even more value when you pick one up at the right time.
Is it cheaper to buy the iPhone from Apple or Telstra?
The actual recommended retail price from Apple or Telstra won't change, so if you bought the phone from either retailer you'd theoretically be in the same spot.
However, Telstra does not offer the cheapest plans going around. In fact, it is one of the most expensive mobile operators.
This means you could save money by purchasing the phone outright from Apple and finding a cheaper SIM-only plan with another provider to pair with it.
This is also the case for Optus and Vodafone. Again the value of the phone won't change, but you can save if you were to find a cheaper plan.

Hi Vince,
Thanks for your message and for visiting Finder.
While we don’t have a Finder page that covers SIM-only plans for iPhone X, you can use any SIM-only plans, given that it meets the size requirement for your device, on your iPhone once it’s unlocked. Some iPhones will only work with a SIM card provided to the carrier they’re locked to. If you purchased your iPhone within the past few years, it’s likely to be unlocked. If your iPhone is older than that, it might be locked to a particular network. For you to be able to freely use any SIM, you need to network unlock your mobile phone.
While we don’t provide a specific product recommendation, you may want to refer to the link above for a list of Finder handpicked SIM-only plans. You can press the “Go to site” button when you are ready to sign up and make a purchase.
Feel free to reply to this message should you have further questions.
Thanks and best regards,
Nikki

Important information about this website
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stands by our editorial principles
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Compensation received from the providers featured on our site can influence which products we write about as well as where and how products appear on our page, but the order or placement of these products does not influence our assessment or opinions of them, nor is it an endorsement or recommendation for them.
Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
Please read our website terms of use and privacy policy for more information about our services and our approach to privacy.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
