Hi Michael,
According to the T&Cs: Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the past 18 months are ineligible for this offer.
If you are getting a business card in the name of the business, then you should be eligible. If your business name is the same as your personal name (ie you operate as a sole trader), then you may run into some grey areas. In that situation, it would be worth contacting AMEX to get some personal advice.
Hope this helps!

Hi Sonia,
No it’s not instance, you need to meet the minimum spend requirement first (currently $6,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months from card approval). Assuming you do so within the first few weeks of having your card, the statement will be processed and the points are usually credited within 2 to 12 weeks from the point. The general advice is “up to 12 weeks” but in practice, it can happen within a couple of weeks of your statement being issued.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
Is rent paid through BPAY classified as an eligible purchase and do the bonus points appear after 3 months if the minimum spend is met or do we have to wait for a longer period of time?
Thanks
Will

Hi Will,
It depends how the rent is paid. If you’re using a platform like RentPay and making a credit card payment, that’s likely to be classified as eligible. However if you make a BPay payment, that could be classified as a cash advance, then it would not be eligible AND it would attract interest immediately.
The bonus points are credited up to 12 weeks after meeting the eligibility requirements, but in practice, they can be credited as soon as 2 weeks after your statement is produced.
Hope this helps!

Hello,
I am interested in this card for my business. One of the main expenditures would be to use the CC to transfer money into another account (with Macquarie) to then pay a loan on a business property I own. Would this be seen as eligible spending? Would there be a charge involved in making payment to this other account?
Thanks

Hi Kailas,
No, this would not be considered eligible spending as you would need to withdraw the money as a cash advance.

Hi there,
Would you happen to know if I personally hold a current AMEX card if I’d still be eligible for the bonus 150k points? Given this is a business card?
